Call for Papers
We are pleased to announce that the 52nd Annual Meeting of the North East Linguistic Society (NELS 52) will be hosted online and will be organized by Rutgers University.
Keynote speakers include:

We invite abstract submission from all subfields of linguistics in four categories:
- Regular main session
- Special session on Anaphora and Coconstrual
- Special session on Long-distance Dependencies in Phonology
- Poster session
Regular and special session talks will be 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes for discussion. Poster presenters will be invited to give 5-minute lightning talks for their poster before Q&A sessions in breakout rooms. Submissions to the special sessions that are not chosen will be automatically considered for the main session. Presentations may be given in English or ASL. (For presentations in ASL, please contact the organizers upon acceptance to allow time for the relevant accommodations.)
Abstract guidelines:
- Abstracts, including references and data, must not exceed two A4 or 8.5″ x 11″ letter pages, have 1-inch margins on all sides, and be set in Times New Roman or Arial with 11 or 12-point font throughout, including captions, footnotes, and references.
- Examples, tables, graphs, etc. should be interspersed into the text of the abstract, rather than collected at the end.
- To ensure anonymity, please write your abstract in such a way that your identity is not disclosed. Do not replace your name with “Author” in the citations or reference list. Please remove all identifying information in your pdf, including in the properties and file name.
- Submissions are limited to two per author, with at most one submission being single-authored.
- Abstracts must be submitted in PDF format through the NELS 52 EasyChair page by June 20th at 23:59 Eastern Standard Time (UTC-5).
- Using the Easychair submission page, please indicate keywords for your submission and your preference for main, poster, or special session in the Keywords field. Please also indicate if you will need ASL interpretation support for your presentation.
