Call for Papers

The 24th edition of the Conference of the Student Organisation of Linguistics in Europe will be held at York St John University in collaboration with the University of York from 6th to 8th January 2016. ConSOLE aims to showcase the best papers in linguistics by students through Europe and the rest of the linguistics community worldwide and provide students with an opportunity to present to an international audience.
***
Graduate students and advanced undergraduates are invited to submit abstracts for oral presentations (30 minutes plus 10 minutes for discussion) and poster presentations. Students submitting must not have defended their PhD before 1st January 2016.

This year’s ConSOLE will be the first to feature parallel sessions, so we hope to be able to accept even more high-quality abstracts than in previous years. We also hope to extend the scope of the conference by representing more subfields of linguistics than ever before.

We welcome submissions in all subfields of linguistics, including but not limited to:
syntax * semantics * phonology * morphology * phonetics * pragmatics * language acquisition * psycholinguistics * computational linguistics * forensic linguistics, sociolinguistics * conversation analysis * discourse analysis * historical linguistics * language policy * clinical linguistics * applied linguistics.

We particularly encourage submissions in fields which have been underrepresented in the past, such as:
sociolinguistics * conversation analysis * pragmatics * language in use.

The deadline for submission is 31st August 2015.
