The Department of Linguistics at the University of British Columbia is pleased to invite abstracts for submission to the 38th West Coast Conference on Formal Linguistics (WCCFL 38) to be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, March 6-8, 2020.

Main Session: Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks and posters on all aspects of theoretical linguistics.

Special Session — Western American Indigenous Languages: Abstracts are invited for 20-minute WCCFL talks on indigenous languages spoken to the west of the mountains that form the spine of the American continents. Examples include languages of the Pacific Northwest, California, western Mexico or South America west of the Andes.

Instructions for Abstract Submission

Abstracts are not to exceed two pages of letter-sized (8.5″x 11″) paper, including data and references, with 1″ margins on all sides, set in a font no smaller than 11 points. The abstract should have a clear title and should not identify the author(s). Submissions are limited to one individual and one joint abstract per author, or two joint abstracts per author.

The abstract must be submitted electronically in PDF format, using our Easychair electronic submission website.

Notification of acceptance: Mid-December, 2019
